about us

Royal Family Kids' Camps of Yamhill County are overnight summer camps for children, ages 7 to 11, who come from challenging family circumstances. We provide them with a week of positive memories where they can feel safe, have fun, and be unconditionally loved - all in the great outdoors!  Preference is given to those children in state-assigned living, such as foster care or group homes.

There are several opportunities to serve at Royal Family Kids' Camps of Yamhill County. We maintain a strict 2-children-to-1-counselor ratio.  We also have several staff positions to help out with crafts, singing and drama, woodworking, canoeing, fishing, and horseback riding.

Anyone working at the camp with the children must:

  • fill out an application (available end of January 2010)
  • pay a $25 application fee
  • submit a national background check, and
  • go through 12 hours of training for new staff, 8 hours for returning staff

We want to ensure that we are preparing you as thoroughly as possible for working with these special children and have created a 100% "safe zone" for them.
